Are jobs in this industry on the rise? Are there any sub-sectors that are growing?

Where are the jobs? Which places have the most engineering technician opportunities?

The trend has been bad, in my opinion, since just before the housing market collapse. Perhaps with the onset of higher oil prices affecting the asphalt industry having something to do with it as well. Where a tech with my 20+ years of experience was getting jobs left-N-right, it became almost an impossibility. In the past two years I have had one interview...this after redesigning my resume' and sending them out like crazy as well as applying here and there and scouring the online job sources. I have decided to change careers as the industry has changed and I feel the first cuts in any industry are in Quality personnel....just my observation and experience.

No BS degree then no job.

Engineering tech jobs are few in number and the vast majority of employers are looking for a minimum of a BS degree.
