Part time escrow officer position

I began my escrow careerin the S.F. Bay Area, as an Escrow Assistant with First American Title and was promoted to Escrow Officer. When my children were born, I went on a part time, Escrow Officer float status, with First American Title. I was recruited to join Chicago Title, as a part time floating Escrow Officer. In total, I was employed by both companies for a total of 9 years. I have been out of the industry for a period of years and would like to obtain a part time position, which seems to be impossible to do. I am currently performing some mobile notary work, but the calls are infrequent. Any suggestions on from the board ??

I was at First American. Some here have gotten a business license and are floating BACK at First Am. California may have different requirements but in the coming year, after all the lay-offs, they will NEED to hire people back in some capacity. (and temps cannot do what we do). I don't think the company hires part time (as a 'regular' employee). I would still pursue the 'independent contractor' route.
