Can you be a little more specific. What type of lines or markets are you interested in?

I am also in the same point in my career. I am a Dental Hygienist but as you know the economy is not good and have been unable to find a stable position. I am also a Esthetician and have always thought about educating and being rep for a skin care line. I just wasn't sure how to get into it..

Hi Leigh!
Congrats on your upcoming graduation! Imagine where your life would be today if the doctors that created Proactiv asked you to join them 18 years ago when they started their company? Well that is precisely the offer on the table today. I work for the doctors in their new company Rodan+Fields Dermatologists and they are bringing dermatology to the masses and inviting us to partner with them.
e-mail me for more info on how they are changing skin and changing lives

I have also been considering esthetician school and a job as a sales rep. My question is: do you have to have an esthetician license to become a rep? And what is the range of salary can I expect?

i would say give up your dreams. an aesthetics license means just that; aesthetics. you should have gone to cosmetology school if you were interested in becoming a real professional.

The only reason I state this, Leigh, is your lack of licensure. I quickly searched your name via the azboc website, and it stated that you were still a student. Do not over analyze yourself, and own up to being an amateur. Have you had any laser or medical aesthetics training? Without specialized training, you may consider yourself another face in the crowd. Once you become serious and dedicated, please reach out to me. Until then, I wish you the best of luck.

A real professional?
With all due respects, Tom, your comments are uncalled for. You acquire an esthetics license by going to cosmetology school. And Leigh said that she was a student and was graduating this month.

Relating to: "Once you become serious and dedicated, please reach out to me." statement, the fact that she is getting her licence seems to indicate that she is serious and dedicated.

I noticed that you are in Phoenix .. the home of NLI. Do you have any affiliation with this school?

Leigh, feel free to reach out to me any time at whatever level or status you are at.

I am a licensed Esthetician and certified Laser Technician. I am very interested in becoming a Sales Representative for a great company. I have had my license for two years and my Laser Certification for three years. If there is anyone that knows of any openings in the Arkansas/Oklahoma area please let me know I would really appreciate the info. Thanks, Briana

I am currently a sales rep for Dermalogica. The more well-known companies are very hard to work for unless you have experience. You must start with a small company, and have successful sales, and no, you dont need an esthetics license to do this. Good luck!

I have been working and quite successful as an esthetician for almost 4 years now, and am ready to take the next step in my career. I have a background in retail sales and am looking to combine my skills and find a more rounded career path. I am looking for potential growth within a skincare company. If anyone has any advice on which direction might be beneficial for me to head in I would appreciate it! Thanks!

Hi Adrie!

Rodan + Fields Dermatologists are the Drs that created Proactiv and in their new venture, they are focusing on anti-aging and sun damage. These are dermatology based skincare products without the need for a Rx. The growth of this company has been amazing as we have grown over 1400% in the last 3 years and continue to break commission records every month.. The Drs owned 85% of the $1 billion acne market with one product. We have 4 main product lines in a $2.5 billion anti-age market which is predicted double in the next 3 years. So you can imagine the numbers and growth potential on that! Would love to talk to you an tell you more about our company and products. Below is a link to a video from the Drs. Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi, Adrie,
I have many Consultants on my team across the country who represent my line and several other lines to offer their Clients. One recently took a position with a new company as a clinical educator. Another has an esthetician, makeup artist and photography business. Another specializes in body sugaring. They all retail several lines to offer a wide variety to their Clients in addition to mine. Some companies do not allow you to represent lines other than theirs, so ask before you decide. Also, Safe Cosmetics . org just released a list of 300+ companies who are their Champions of Innovation, meeting standards they set for "clean" products. You want to know that the products you work with do give the results your Clients are looking for and more, and you use and love them as well. They should be innovative in the use of the most recent scientific advancements in their product lines. Lastly, you should be compensated for your retail sales without needing to meet a quota, and be free to market as works best for you. I can offer you all of the above. We are listed as a Champion of Innovation, and have experienced 300% growth in the past year. We offer phenomenal training and on going support as you desire. The estheticians I work with are enjoying great success with their Clients' results, and loving the ease of the simple, and lucrative business plan. If you are interested in learning more, I'm happy to speak with you!
Best wishes for future success!
Candy
