How did you get your start doing executive chef work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position? Do you need a particular educational background? |

Getting into a solid restaurant chain is a great idea. Starting as a dishwasher and learning at every new opportunity you get. You should not stay more than 1 year at the same place then you are limiting your skills. Move around if you are able to and cook in differwent restaurants and learn the food and culture. |

Go to work for the best restaurant in town and keep an opened mind. Wash dishes, peel potatoes and clean clean clean. Let the chef know you have a desire to learn from him/her. work harder and longer than others and ask questions. I wouldn't hurt to read up on basic cooking principals either. |
