(the following was moved from an existing thread to a brand new one. If you responded earlier, you are urged to copy and paste it here) Hi guys, I am currently interviewing for MetLife and Axa for Financial Advisor. This industry is brand new to me and I am somewhat unsure if this the right career change for me. I have been in retail for the past 8 years, and have built up a career for myself. I have usually done well in sales, and I am very outgoing and am considered a "people-person". The high turnover for Financial Advisors worries me A LOT. How do I know if I have what it takes? I do have financial responsibilities and don't know if I can afford to dive into the risk of a commissioned job. Any insight from an advisor would be appreciated. What are some of the things that make FA's fail? |

You will be on your own more or less in each to find and sell to clients. Its all about production - amount of policies you write, the amount of assets you gather. |

I don't particularly know many wealthy people and I wouldn't want to pitch to any family/friends because I find it awkward for everyone. So far MetLife seems to be the most desirable company to work for. |
