new england financial and john hancock

Has anyone had any experiences working for New England Financial or John Hancock? How does NEF differ from metlife? Is it more insurance oriented? I'd like to work for a financial company, but not so much one that focuses so heavily on insurance. Does anyone recommend any other companies? Any experiences or input would be appreciated.

I have interviewed with NEF and Met and had a friend work for Hancock. From what I understand they basically all do the same thing. If you are going to be good you will do well any place. What you really need to look at is the support in the office and the personalities. Another thing to look at is the company name. Sure the people you work with are buying you as a trusted rep, but the name can get you in the door too. Everyone knows metlife, but automatically only thinks life insurance. In WI people dont as easily recognize NEF because it isnt big here. Does that make a difference? I dont know that answer, but that is what Ive been considering. But like i said, I think the biggest thing is the office you work in and the support. The job is very similar.
