The bigger the city and/or facility, the better the salary...in general. In some large metro areas, performance bonuses can boost salaries upward of $75-90 per class. Personal TRAINERS can earn more per hour, but usually have to work a lot harder to build a consistent client base. My research shows an average per class rate of $18-20 nationally. The best way to earn more is to learn more. Being more diverse in what you can offer will bring you more classes and make you more marketable. Typically Pilates, Yoga, and aqua instructors command the highest rates.
