They now have a union.....I have read really bad things about the flight attendant position for Colgan....no one is saying anything good. - Was this comment helpful? This airline is growing so fast and this is a perfect time to get in. If you live near Newark they are having a session on April 16th. They are hiring and move very fast in the process. They ask the usual questions. Be yourself, smile and dress professional. Come prepared. Bring your resume, cover letter, passport, license, s.s.#, recommendation letters and copies of all. They pay you for training.Pay is about the same with the others...Only United is different and is much less. United and American and American Eagle do not pay you for training. saturn in the 7th house 50 months ago	Hi, Yes I am going to the one at EWR, yes I have all that covered!! I will get some reference letters though as you pointed out...those I do not have yet. I am so glad you got on this board to share your thoughts as it has been very bleek here. Oh I just read your other post.....well that is good about the benefits. I know they pay for training.....the other question I have is about the fly perks. If you care to share.... I have been really excited about this opportunity with Colgan and soo I am nervous but really think I am a good candidate for them so I feel prepared. Is there anything maybe I should know otherwise. Hoping to Fly the Friendly Skies in Cheshire, Connecticut 50 months ago	HI SATURN- COLGAN FLIES FOR CONTINENTAL, US AIR AND UNITED. SO THE FLIGHT BENEFITS DEPEND ON WHICH AIRLINE... IF YOU GO ON WED., I BELIEVE THAT IT IS FOR THE Q 400 BOMBIDIER PLANE AND IT IS CONTINENTAL FLIGHTS. BUT I COULD BE WRONG. YES, YOU DO GET FLIGHT BENEFITS ON CONTINENTAL FOR THE 48 STATES. FREE AIRFARE..YOU JUST HAVE TO PAY THE TAXES WHICH ARE ALMOST NOTHING.AM NOT SURE ABOOUT OVER SEAS...OR BUDDY PASSES. I WILL FIND OUT AT TRAINING. I AM VERY EXCITED BUT NERVOUS. I JUST GOT THE "CALL" YESTERDAY AND I AM WORRIED THAT THE OTHER PEOPLE IN THE CLASS WILL HAVE AN ADVANTAGE OVER ME BY HAVING THE TIME TO STUDY. I HAVE NOT STUDIED YET. AM WAITING ON MY PACKET. I HAVE STARTED WITH MY AIRPORT CODES, THOUGH. YOU WILL LOVE THEM AT COLGAN..THEY ARE SOOOO NICE. THE RECRUITERS, H.R., EVERYONE.. I HAVE DONE ALOT OF RESEARCH ON THIS AIRLINE AND THEY ARE A GREAT COMPANY TO WORK FOR. A SMALL COMPANY THAT IS GROWING SO FAST. THIS IS A GOOD TIME TO GET IN. THE COMPANY WAS SOLD TO PINNACLE AIR IN JAN, 07 BUT MR. COLGAN IS VERY MUCH INVOLVED. WHICH I LIKE. I WOULD SUGGEST GOING ON LINE AND DOING RESEARCH ON BOTH PINNACLE AND COLGAN. BY DOING THIS YOU CAN MAKE SURE THAT THIS COMPANY IS A SURE FIT FOR YOU. ALSO, IT IS IMPRESSIVE WHEN YOU CAN TELL THEM ABOUT THEIR OWN COMPANY. SHOWS YOU CARE. I WILL KEEP YOU INFORMED. I have no idea what to expect as I just read the forums for delta and some others to get ideas for questions. I can try and get letters together but I am not sure it will happen. I don't think it will be a problem if we don't have them. I believe training is in virginia.... Does anyone know how long the interview is? and the process for it. i am wondering if the whole process is there or if there is another interview phase..... - Was this comment helpful? Bill in Suffern, New York 50 months ago	I was considering Colgan Air but I am a little bit curious about the airline. From the research that I am doing, do they have overnights or are you at home every night? I just hope everything goes smoothly.. & I can start tranning soon!!! & yeah Bill There are Overnights.. from what they tolds us in the open interview.. you will be having up to 3 day trips sometimes... but not everytime! - Was this comment helpful? It sounds like a really good airline. and yup the next tranning starts the 28th in Albany.. I hope I can go tooo!!! And I cant tell by your name if your a male or female lol... but I know the you get a blazer, a button down, pants and a skirt for the females... same for male but ofcours without the skirt.. and I know the button downs are white with gold! and I believe the rest is navy. - Was this comment helpful? I am sure they have at least 20 of us to work on.....this should be interesting to see how this all gets processed. The 28th is not far away...they mush have another class after that. Saturn in the 7th house 50 months ago	really....thanks for that info. I guess like everything else in this industry anything can change. It was really interesting when she said that people were already let go in training. I am surprised that people are not taking this training seriously. With this airline industry being so unpridictable it is getting harder to work for the airlines. To not take it seriously must mean you did not want to be there. I am hoping to go next Monday for training.....somehow I don't know how all that would be possible. I do want to go next Monday. Im so excited... they are sending me my ticket and everythnig I need to bring in with me the mail. so I should have it in a few day!! you guys should do the drug test ASAP! I think thats what they are waiting for... I did mine yesterday & got a call this morning! Hi "here i come ny" Im great now lol! how is everythng with you? Saturn in the 7th house 50 months ago	I had the drug test and it was painless, waiting for them to finish all paperwork. They said they are trying to get me into the 28th class. I am willing to go at the late notice. I don't want to delay the opportunity. Does anyone know when the travel benefits start. We may have to wait 6 months to get them I think??
