A few weeks ago I got Forklift certified through Tacoma Community College -- OSHA and WA standards. I wasn't a resident of Washington, but of Michigan, and I moved directly to Oklahoma City where I have relatives. My idea was to move here and get a job as a forklift operator. I haven't done an extensive search for forklift jobs but a Temp agencies that advertises for operators said employers here usually require a minimum of 6-month's experience.
I am wondering if I have thrown some money away. Would it likely be easier to get a job in Washington State, due to this certification? Or is it just as tough there to get a job without experience?
