Do some companies pay a lot more for this position than others? What does a top earner make in this field?

What skills should you learn to increase your salary?

New York City FI's for the DHS start at around $32K with a $5K bump after 2 years. I assume it would be simmilar for other departments.

Hello, does anyone know any salary expectations (range) for a fraud investigator in Toronto (Canada) area, not for an FI but for a private investigator firm? .. I worked 7.5 years in fraud in an FI and it's hard to judge life outside what I call the "Bank Bubble" that they keep you in. Plus I have been off for 5 years. When I go on a job interview I have no idea what my salary expectations are. (I was making $41k CAD ($38k USD) when I left the Bank but IMO I was underpaid.) In an interview I don't want to shoot too high and lose the job, and I don't want to shoot too low and end up feeling ripped off.

Any Canadians out there?
