I would say they are growing. I have seen tons of GIS developer jobs, many of which are closed because there is nobody qualified to fill them.

We are currently accepting resumes for a GIS Developer in Columbus, OH.

The selected candidate will perform the following duties:

- Lead efforts to troubleshoot CADD/GIS system hardware and software problems

- Lead team of CGAs developing software and hardware plans and solutions

- Expertise in teaching/conveying technical and/or functional courses/concepts

- Make enhancements to the existing Oil and Gas Well Locator and Oil and Gas Well Search applications, both applications developed in .NET

- The enhancements will include the modification and integration of an ESRI flex viewer application with a custom built Web document search application

- Work with subject matter experts and a Business Analysts to complete the desired enhancements

- Responsible for providing direct support of various CADD/GIS software and hardware systems

- Perform hardware and software installations, relocations, testing and routine maintenance

Required Skills and Experience:

- Eight plus years of relevant experience

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical study

- Three years senior programming experience in ESRI's ARC GIS server

- Strong background in building custom GIS application with ESRI Flex Viewer

- Candidate must have senior programmer experience with no less than 5 years’ experience

- Two years’ experience designing Flex Viewer Apps with ARC GIS Platform

- One year of Microsoft .NET Programming experience
