3 yrs experience. BA in GIS from University of Illinois. My Salary is $33,904, unfortunately my student loans are much, much higher.

I work with wastewater management so the skill set I am picking up here may differ than other jobs since GIS can be so dynamic with so many different types of jobs.

Surveying would be a MUST. I had to train using a GPS unit and the software that imports and exports the data in and out of the GIS database.

AutoCAD is a major software program that predates GIS but is what my work place used before. Being able to integrate between the two is a nice compliment to resume.
