unless you work union, theres really no way to certify yourself, here in portland or. the union takes your money,but the training & CERTIFICATION process is not so great, your moved along by hours worked. most shops will start you out at the bottom & move you up over a period of time, this is the best way to attain marketable skills

Go union IUPAT is in canada I believe. Good wages, they secure your work and only take 3% which is a write off any ways... i went union 2 years ago and would never consider working otherwise...
