study operator manuals for weed eaters...mowers and even small tractors,go to your local gardeners club or store and ask questions about planting ,fertelizing, pruning ect.Get to know the tools of your trade,weed eaters,mowers,sprayers along with regular laborer's tools{rakes,shovels,forks ect ect].also a little knowelege about irragation systems helps.Remember this work is outside so dress for the weather,,,sun screen ,hat .gloves work shoes all are needed for this type of work.If you are not a outside person consider other employment.
