Hello,

I was hoping someone can help me. I have a background in benifits, I worked for CIGNA Insurance company. I also have a technical background, and have supported HRIS systems. I also have experience in Peoplesoft and SAP.

My problem is this, for the last few years I have been working out of my field and now I am having a difficult time getting back in the feild. I have at least 10 years of relevant experience.

Can anyone help with any suggestions or leads I can follw?

In my experience, I have found that writing a functional resume, which highlights your specific skills and accomplishments, can really make you stand out as a strong candidate. Or, you may consider writing a combined resume, which is a resume that highlights your specific skills, accomplishments, and achievements, and also, allows you to list your working history in an chronological format.

Another suggestion, is to register with recruitment firms or staffing agencys that specialize in placing HR Professionals and there's also SHRM (Society of Human Resources Management) which is a well known organization that you can join for a annual fee but, I understand that they have an excellent networking group.
