Well, you can become a server after being a host, so you'll be making more money. Actually you could become anybody, depends on the restaurant and your relationship with management. And if you want to be a very good host just do your job well, don't complain, stay overtime if needed, keep your place clean, do everything you are supposed to as good as possible try not gossip with servers and be in a good relationship with them and of course provide excellent customer service to your guests.
