We are an international storage tank and structural engineering contracting firm looking to hire an Assistant Operations Manager with a Mechanical or Industrial Engineering background to work in our corporate office in Orange County, CA.
- Support in managing daily operations including all projects.
-Assist in managing risk management issues including the review of contracts between company, clients and vendors
-Provide expertise for solving complex project estimating issues and project logistics.
-Determine products and services to be sold by reviewing drawings and specifications conferring with client and subcontractors, giving recommendations for any necessary changes.
-Locate, select and procure products and manufacturers for custom fabrication.
-Oversee activities directly related to fabricating products.
-Review sales activity and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing marketing improvement and cost reductions.
-Some national and international travel.
Skills and Ability Requirements:
-Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, contractors and the general public, both orally and in writing.
-Excellent command of the English language
-Skills using a personal computer, engineering applications and data management software.
-Knowledge of project management principles and construction techniques.
-Capacity to organize, analyze, interpret and evaluate problems and provide practical and cost effective solutions.
Education and Experience Requirements:
-Four year university with an appropriate degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Construction Management
-Five or more years of progressively related experience, including supervisory function.
