How did you get your start doing industrial maintenance technician work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position?

Do you need a particular educational background?

I was a jet engine technician in the USAF. I retired in 1994 and could not find work. I was hired as an apprentice mechanic at a bag plant. Learned industrial maintenance using my knowledge of troubleshooting, tools and precision measuring. I learned how to weld, braze and cut metal and learned to use a milling machine and engine lathe. Two years later when the company went out of bussiness I found another industrial maintenance position and furthered my career knowledge in electrical field.
