I have five plus years in Instructional Design. Recently, I have joined an MNC as an Instructional Designer. But after joining I have realised that the task allocated to me is more Technical Writing, task involves updating release documents and informing the client about the updations. I have no prior experience in Technical writing. This is a long term project and from what I have heard I am going to be stuck to this project for my tenure in the company. There are other instructional designers who are getting course design oppurtinities in the company. I am not very sure if this project is going to be good for my career in the long run. The company is good and has offered a good pay package which I dont want to lose out especially taking the current market in consideration. My question is should I inform my managers that I am not happy about the project? Or will this project open new avenues for me? Looking forward for all your valuable advice. |
