Is the coast guard a bad place to start?

I have done a lot of thought and would like to become an intel analyst. I have a family and would hate to leave them for a year or more, so I was thinking intelligence specialest in the coast guard. I know that they get deployed and all about how long the training is, what I am asking is will I get a job when Im out with exprience from the coast guard and a college degree.
