Are jobs in this industry on the rise? Are there any sub-sectors that are growing?

Where are the jobs? Which places have the most intelligence analyst opportunities?

Jobs are on the rise in both the Federal Service and in State and Local Law Enforcement

jobsearch.usajobs.gov/jobsearch.asp?jbf522=0132&lid=&salmin=&salmax=&paygrademin=&paygrademax=&FedEmp=N&tm=&sort=rv&vw=d&ss=0&brd=3876&FedPub=Y&caller=%2Fseries_search.asp&SUBMIT1.x=83&SUBMIT1.y=11

Job search under series 0132 rendered 349 listings of positions, but some were multiple listings and they were worldwide. There were numerous IO, SIO, IA, IOS, IRS, IS, SA and others

Growing sub-sectors are the FBI and State/Local LE. The FBI actually did themselves a disfavor as a few yaers ago they hired FBI-Admin personnel as analysts. This hurt them in the long run since they got overpaid admin people (for the most part). Now much of the hiring is outside FBI, except for when the SAc needs to payback his secretary.

The most Intelligence Analyst (0132) opportunities are listed as of todays date, in Washington DC and Northern VA.
This is a bad trend and a centralization of important assets. Hopefully in the future (especially with the available connectivity) they will push agencies intelligence centers to field areas, thus cutting down on costs and providing better environments.
