The market is flooded with auditors since SOX has declined and companies are seeing little value in outsourcing to big 4 firms and they are laying off in droves.

It is not a good time to be any kind of auditor. Most auditors are holding onto their jobs for dear life when they should be looking for other opportunities.

I would not suggest that anyone go into the accounting/auditing profession these days. Maybe in a few years it will get better again. Like most things, it changes in cycles.
