What do you enjoy most about your internal audit manager career?

What do you enjoy most about being an internal audit manager? What do you dislike the most? Is it challenging? Are there many opportunities to learn and advance?

What keeps you at your job?

I like the opportunity it provides you to add value to all spheres of company ops. Ofcourse, you need to understand business to add value. e.g. I work in construction arena and really get a kick out of my job in working out effective strategies to continuously improve the bottomline. We are about 18 people at work to deploy the latest in auditing to benefit the company.
What however annoys me are the people who have no idea about the job and still harp in the name of risk management. They have no idea what it takes to implement risk management but still do not loose any chance of showing their non-sensical foolishness at every opportunity; unfortunately often these are very senior people. We have a one of those newly joined here doing this only!!
