Do some companies pay a lot more for this position than others? What does a top earner make in this field?

What skills should you learn to increase your salary?

It depends where you live. I see most new jobs for entry level posting at $15,000. Big city jobs pay much more, but there are fewer and fewer of them. Further, they require a master's. If you are going to spend $100K or more getting your degree, don't get it in journalism unless you are beautiful and a smooth talker, then go into broadcast and be prepared to fight tooth and nail to get ahead.

I personaly think that the journalist oppertunities are growing because people wont pay for T.V but they will pay for books and magazines and newspapers.
