How did you get your start doing kennel technician work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position?

Do you need a particular educational background?

I have experience as a kennel technician. I started out working at a pet store, cleaning up after the animals in the morning, and ensuring that they had water, food, a clean and healthy living environment, their early shots and vaccinations, etc. Then I went to work at the Human Society, which was neat, and they wanted basically those skills. Also, they are usually willing to train you. A kennel technician is usually (but not always) an entry level job. No, you (generally) do not need any particular educational background. Currently, I only have a High School Diploma.
