The computer operator is a dying profession. It has either been off-shored or automated.

There are a few old mainframe shops still around but in my opinion, the whole IT field is on my AVOID LIST as far as a new profession goes.

For now stick with the trades: x-ray tech, nurse, physical therapist, plumber, heating and air conditioning, etc.
