Are all lawyers so GREEDY??

I have noticed, since I started working for lawyers, that their greed never seems to come to an end..

I currently work for a sole practioner. He has a ton of clients, and makes a VERY nice living, and I am paid pretty well and so is his other assistant.

But he really doesn't have a handle on any of his cases. He is contantly behind on work, he is always getting compliance notices from the court because he hasn't filed this or that, his clients are always calling and complaining because he doesn't return their calls, etc. I could go on and on.

YET, he never fails to take on MORE and MORE clients, and he just simply doesn't have the time for it! The only thing I can conclude is that he is just greedy for more money. Like I said, he is not hurting for business, he makes a lot just from his current cases, but yet, he takes on way too much.

I concur, however not ALL lawyers are so inclined to be so overly greedy, even though most are! There are a small percentage who are moral, ethical and professional and try to do the right thing, but they are in the minority. Personally, I think it is a "character flaw" within this profession since they are basically given a "legal license to steal, lie and cheat!" When the Antichrist arrives on the scene he will most likely come from the law profession, no doubt...!!! Not that many years ago we had a big movie with the Devil being the head of an eastern law firm. It made sense to me, because this profession is rampant with evil and unscrupulous people "out to make a buck" at everyone else's expense! There are no "free lunches" despite what many may think, and every time someone is sued and loses, someone has to "pay the bill" which is why so many products and services are so extremely expensive these days, particularly drugs and healthcare services. Yet, the present administration et al. fight needed tort reform and caps on lawsuits in this area! The reason why is clear since most politicians are lawyers and they make the laws to protect themselves and their opulent lifestyles! Consequently, they go right on living in their fine homes, driving BMWs and enjoying the country club life and frequent cruises and European vacations at public expense...!!!
