How did you get your start doing library clerk work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position?

Do you need a particular educational background?

I have been asking the same question for a decade w/no response from employment counselors or even library operators (one wished me luck in pursuit of my career). There don't seem to be any classes listed on line or even @ local colleges. I've heard of a library "page" as a start, but it seems that there are no steady hours (you should be available from open to close, 8 - 8, & the work is very part time, less than 20 hours weekly).

You can try DRexel university online. AS for jobs, I think you have to start at the bottom and unfortunately the jobs are part time.
