How much does a cook make in a hotel in NY/NJ?

I'm applying for a job at the Hilton Hotel in New Jersey and the application asks for how much I was expecting to get paid hourly, I was wondering how much someone normally get's paid at a hotel as a cook?

It's my first time applying for a hotel job and before that I did fine dining where I received 8.00 an hour (no over-time). This time I want more but not so much to offend them since I don't really have a lot of experience.
