How did you get your start doing logistics manager work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position?

Do you need a particular educational background?

The best advice would be to make a 2 year & 5 year plan. The first plan would consist of making your aspirations clear to your employee & taking on any extra responsibilities. It is important that this time is used to show your maturity & consistancy. Turn up everyday and show you can be trusted & relied on. These are the first steps in true leadership which demonstrates time management, credability as well as setting a fine example for others to follow.
The second plan should consist of tertiary training, specialise in logistic activities, ie become a better forklift driver, establish your stock & inventory responsibilities, develop quality control & compliance in the supply chain. Make your intentions known to your employee that you are working towards the next step in leadership (team leader / supervisor). The employee should assist with this plan based on your past performances to date. When you have achieved this goal, it is important to establish this role becoming comfortable while exploring it's possibilities. From here you can begin to launch your final push to a senior management position. Becoming a manager is better achieved through planning and end tasking your goals. Taking one step at a time. Remember you are on show all the time, to be a prospect manager expect to be observed by all quarters - rise above, do the work, show you are the right person & you will succeed.
Tip: Fast tracking to a management position can leave you underprepared, overwelmed and discouraged - work towards your goal taking the time to absorb experience for the future.
