I just got through working for the government it is a GS-9 max out at about 54K a year. The only place that pays a GS-10 is Las Vegas and California. To get to the GS 11 position you have to be in management usually the head of the department. I know because I checked it out when I worked for them for four years. Their are no jobs now they started hiring from within the last time I check you had to be a x-ray tech for like 3 years before they would consider cross training you. Also you have to have your ARRT to qualify.
Hope this helps. IF I had it to do all over I would of went into another field.
