I've been a MRI Tech since 1991(RTR)(MR).I lost my job 3 yrs ago and have not worked in the field since. Market is very saturated here!!! I never did general xray or CT so I'm not very marketable that way but at this point if I had the opportunity to do either of the two I'd jump at it... Is it possible for me to get back into the field after being away for this long and any suggestions how??
Are there refresher courses for xray? I'd appreciate any input!!!

Leese, if you've never worked in Gen Rad, it'll be hard for an employer to hire you over technologists with years of experience who are also out of work, or over new graduates fresh out of school.

I'm not saying you should give up, but it's a tough sell. For starters, try ARRT/ASRTs online digital imaging academy - ODIA here www.arrt.org/odia/odia.html Also contact the radiography programs at your local community colleges. They may either have or know of refreshers for RT's.

Good luck
