I would suggest the Faulkner/Roth book of MR registry test questions. There are several hundred questions. |

I am planning to take the test also. I have atleast 11 yrs in MRI as a Technologist. I am using a book called Magnetic Resonance Imaging physical and biological principles by Steward C Bushong. And a Question book by Gregory L Wheeler, Kathryn E Withers. Lippencott's . Mag. Res. Imaging Review.

I am looking for something like a mock registry that is relatively cheap, but still a quality exam. I just studied "MRI IN Practice" and LIPPINCOTS guide and did fine. I did read mri in practice about 5x each chapter. good luck, wasn't too bad |

You seem to be ready. All you need is some CONFIDENCE...........GO FOR IT. Or maybe you just dont understand the theory. You are the only one who can KNOW. Dont spend any more money. All the material you used are super. Good luck |

Don't bother with Bushong, his wording and explainations are terrible. Step by Step MRI by reddy and Prasad is good. So is MRI in Practice. As for review questions I cannot think of the titles right now because I am at work but the black and yellow one is always exceptionally great for boards, they say that one is the closest that the real ones resemble and a light greenish blue and salmon colored one is also good. |

DON'T BUY IT. I bought it. Really disappointed in the entire process. I did everything they told me to do. When the time for me to get the CEU's, THEY said I would not get them because I did not get 100 % on the Tests.

I took my board back in December 16.I can tell you it's very had no lies, but if you study hard you can do. the main idea Do not study the MIC only. use other things along with like the cd that you got from your school regestry review, there is a book caplan made MRI test questions only. take as many test as you can before seating for your board and you will past.

Thanks for the info I have read the MIC and bought both registry review study questions Lipincott and Westbrook- Falkner. Am planning on attending the Falkner week seminar in April. I am hoping that should be adequate. I am planning on moving to Florida in April if there are any jobs let me know I am a CT-MRI tech, for now registered in CT only. |

Please be careful. There aren't any jobs in Florida. Especially in Florida. 2 wks ago, There were only 5 medical jobs in the Tampa Tribune. Unbelievable. This is A RIGHT TO WORK STATE you Know!

Some as you, CT registered, will be in MRI soon. FL truly stinks, as far as Jobs. Too many schools not enough positions. Salaries are low. I left that God forsaken state and moved to MA. My salary doubled, and I worked much less. I hated the cold weather, otherwise, I would have stayed. Best of luck to You.

well if you have hospital experience you may have a better luck than me. I took my board about a month 1/2 ago. I am still looking for job. I have been an X-ray tech for 9 years. so you see things are very hard in Florida now. well it's all depends on where live also. best luck. |

MIC has a 97% pass rate if you take the test within 6 mths of reading. I also have MRI in Practice and Review Questions for MRI by Carolyn Kaut and Bill Faulkner. I consider myself of above average intelligence BUT The physics is boring. What I NEED which I can not find ANYWHERE is an interactive CD/DVD as i am high-energy and have Adult ADD. I scan in a high-voume outpatient facility and I LOVE MRI and find it very interesting.....IF ANYBODY KNOWS OF SUCH A CD/DVD THAT HAS NOTHING BUT REPETITIVE PRACTICE QUESTIONS, PLEASE ADVISE!! MIC is a very good course program. it is also true if you do not pass they and you did fallow their instruction correctly they will give your money back. but that is not the only important thing you want to be psychological ready for the test. like i tell everyone who is going to take the test take as many practice test as you can. do not rely on one source only use multiple source alone with MIC and you will succeed. good luck. |

I saw the online course too but the total cost was holding me back....at this point however, I will consider it an option if I do not pass on my first attempt. HOWEVER, do you have PASS/FAIL stats if your online course is used say like 97% MIC claimed??? THANKS...see you in May.....it is very hard to study for this with working full time and other life responsibilities! :( |

I see that you are attending the weekend registry review in May. As an attendee you will be given access to the video lecture of your choice. This IS listed in the course flyer, but we generally discuss this at the meeting. I recommend that an attendee wait until after they attend the course to make the selection... they can chose the topic that covers their weakness... for example if you find that you are weak in anatomy - you should chose anatomy video, if you are weak in physics - you should chose physics... and so on. we will discuss the particulars (how to chose the topic and how to get the video enabled, etc) at the weekend course. I hope that you find this information useful. If you would like to email me direction feel free to email candi@imaginged.com. See you in May! |

@ EmilyM03 I'm taking the MRI registry in December and also studying the MIC MRI registry review. Why are you not feeling prepared from the registry after finish MIC MRI registry review? Thanks and good luck to you. |

Simply study hard!!! There is no substitute to hard work, it will never go to waste. MRI physics in-depth understanding is a must in order to excel in this exam. |

I just took my registry and passed. I studied the MRI in practice book and the MRI study guide for technologists. I also used the yellow Review Questions for MRI book. I read the MRI in practice book like 5 times over and over but trust me its worth it. After that, I went through MRI study guide for technologists multiple choice workbook and knew them with ease. For anatomy, the yellow book has all the anatomy you need to know. It was like a 2 or 3 month process. Studied every night. The MRI in practice book is logical. Read it over and over and over haha. MRI in practice is the way to go for sure! I'm posting this because I was looking for tips on this website before my test so I figured I would help out. 2 years experience |

I highly recommend the book from MIC it is expensive but you get your money back if you do not pass your boards. This is all that i used after being crossedtrained and I passes my first time. It is also good for C.E credits also. Best of luck ! |

jawinsd in San Diego, California said: Does anyone know if there is a mri registry review course in San Diego,Ca? You may want to try Paul Worthington's MRI Registry Review webinar. It is a live course that covers the materials needed to pass the registry. Also, because it is live you can ask questions. Because it is a webinar you can attend from you home PC. The webinar starts next Saturday, October 15 (4hrs) then finishes up on the following Saturday October 22 (4 hrs). You can find more info at www.mtmi.net/webinars and look for the MRI Registry Review title. |

I went to school for MRI in 2006, but right after I finished I moved from PA to SC. I have been fighting to get near a magnet since coming down here. I am a registered Rad Tech, but my goal was to be a registered MR Tech. I didn't feel comfortable taking the registry in 2006 because I still felt like I needed more hands on experience to help me understand more of the physics. I struggled with the physics in school too. I ended up losing my full time x-ray job, and everyone wants you to be registered to be hired as an MR tech, most even want experience. It is frustrating that no one will give you the chance to gain the experience, but instead they require experience before giving you the position. So due to all of that money is very tight now, and I want to start studying to take the registry now, but there are so many registry review courses and books out there I am unsure as to what will be worth spending the money on. I hear good and bad on the MIC program, and I have noticed that they have a cross-trainer and a review program. I haven't scanned since 2006 when I finished my school program, so I am unsure if the cross-trainer would seem to basic or if the review program would seem to hard for me. Both programs are expensive. I would love to go to a live review, but living in Myrtle Beach I don't think any come near my area. Does anyone have any ideas on current registry review books, courses, or seminars that would be beneficial to me? Also, if anyone has any used MIC programs, or other registry review books let me know. It will be easier for me to afford used ones over new ones. I am not sure how frequently they change the registry so I am looking for the most up to date programs and books that I can find. Thanks! |

I noticed that several states require a state license. Does this mean that even though I am already ARRT registered I have to take an additional test for the State? Or is it something that you just pay the state to give you, and you renew it every 2 years? |
