You notice that maintenance engineer positions rarely post the salary. It is negotiable and varies greatly. I have seen salaries from low 30's to 125K+ depending on the situation and experience.

To increase your salary, you need to show you are a good steward and though it sounds cheap... Money talks.

The programs that help prevent reoccurence and increase throughputs can greatly increase salary. 6-Sigma probably being the most popular.

Also specialized training can greatly increase salary such as ammonia certifications, vibration analysis etc.
