How did you get your start doing maintenance supervisor work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position?

Do you need a particular educational background?

After years in the fiels i started my own maintenance co.
i learded most everything through training first and faked some. the key is to know your limits.

La necesidad de mantener a mi familia cuando llegue a Estados Unidos. En mi pais trabaja en Justicia Criminal pero todo cambia cuando te mudas.
No me quejo del trabajo que desempeño ahora pues es muy gratificante para mi ver caras que te sonrien con agradecimiento por la ayuda y servicio que le brindas al arreglar su departemento.
Al principio no fue facil pues tuve que empezar desde abajo como todo pero hoy 4 años despues Dios me bendijo y soy un humilde Supervisor pues nunca me olvido de donde vine y como se sufre cuando se empieza desde abajo.
Lo que me movio de mi pais fue darle una mejor calidad de vida mi Amado Tesoro (aprender ingles) y a mi Amada y Dulce Esposa (mejor calidad en el servicio medico).

I started out as a Millwright then moved into a Lead Hand position or you could find a Group Leader type job. Then I progressed into Maintenance Supervision. Also very important, I did continue going to College night school classes and worked on taking Management courses and got a Supervisory Certificate, with the Ontario Management Development Program. Never stop learning would be my best advice
