What are the top 3 traits or skills every manager must have to excel? Can you suggest any tips or insights to develop your manager expertise? |

Do not be afraid to set goals even thought their might be many more people in the buisness that you might feel deserve the position more than you. Stick to your plan, suggest follow then lead by example |

I think everyone agrees multi-tasking is one of the most important qualities of a leader.
The third one, for me, is the ability to influence the department or even more importantly to find the person with the capacity to influence the department. There is, unfortunately, a political fight in every management group, so people naturally find something wrong with managers. However, being or finding the person that can ease the tension and convince the team to move forward will see a great amount of accomplishment and see less departmental confusion. Best wishes,

In my experience of being a manager and being managed, all of the traits listed are very true but you also have to lead by example. Nothing is worse than reporting to a superior who doesn't. |
