Are there any math teachers out there who would like to make a little extra money for not very much effort AND, in the process, help students understand math better?

This is especially for any teachers with a SMART Board who have made any lesson slides using SMART notebook or PowerPoint.

I am a certified math teacher from Ohio, and I have just launched, a website for any student with an interest in getting online instruction, whether it is because they are behind, don’t understand it in class, or want to get ahead. Also, every level of math is fair game – from adding fractions and multiplying integers to finding derivatives and proving Calculus theorems and beyond.

If you are interested in getting some of your lessons online to help other students or even your own students (just think – your students can go to the computer lab and watch the next lecture if you have to miss a day of school), or if you are interested in making some extra money, then check out pays its contributors a part of the website’s profit based on the popularity of their video. And the best part is that once you have taught and uploaded a video, you keep making money if people keep watching the lesson.

Everything is previewed and approved by a certified math teacher, so nothing will be accepted that is incorrect or inappropriate for student viewing.

Because the website will be free for the first few months, will be making no profit, so contributors will also make nothing during this trial period. But once the site gets going, and schools or students start signing up for subscriptions, you can expect to start making money.

If you are interested in finding out more and/or contributing lessons to, go to and watch the How MathVids Works tutorial, the How To Make a MathVid tutorial, or just read about it in the Learn More section.
