I have a BSME from Purdue University and have 8 years of heavy industry design experience. But I have not had any luck finding an opening.

Does anyone know of companies hiring, interviewing, etc.?

Look at Navistar....sometimes I see openings for truck engine design etc.

look for contract position first, its easy to find opening.
Network with agencies, temp position, temp to permanent, 3 months, 6 months.
Just be patient and full time will come around after you work for a little while
