UNDECIDED - Medical Assistant vs. Ophthalmic Tech

Should I:
A. Start my ophthalmic tech program upcoming fall (2 years)
B. Start medical asst program in the upcoming fall (1.5 years)

The problem is that I am undecided if I want to become an OT anymore. I have never been in the health care industry and do not know what it will be like. MA will give more experience and opportunities to further advance. (I do not want to become a nurse). I can't advance as an OT and pay starts at 12-14/hr (terrible) although MA is not much lower than that. But MA will give me more variety. I have finished 20 credits for my OT requirements. Will it go to waste? What would you do?
