Looking to break into Medical Sales in Charlotte, NC

I am currently looking to switch gears a bit and try and break into the medical sales field. I know the talent pool of outstanding canidates out there is at an all time high. I have 8 years of outside sales experience, selling highly techincal equipment into the electrical industry. I was managing a team of 6 sales people at the age of 24. I have been the top performer within my organization the last 2 years. I have been trying to get my foot in the door for about 2 months now and have not been very sucessful emailing and calling recruiters. I am looking for any suggestions or leads anyone might have as to how I can help my self stand out from the crowd. I am based out of Charlotte NC and would like to stay here if at all possible. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
