How do I begin changing from Consumer Products Sales to Medical Equipment Sales/Technician

I am looking to change careers. I have been in Consumer Products Sales for many years but am looking at trying something new. What I would like to do is help in-home patients set up and use medical equipment in their homes. Not sure how to begin? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
