Breaking into the Medical Device Sales Industry

From the outside looking in, the MDS industry is an ever growing realm of possibility for a talented sales person. I view myself as such, but have had difficulty finding a position in Tulsa. With a very strong business network in place along side of family, staying in Tulsa is mandatory.
Does anyone have any helpful hints or advice for someone looking to change careers without changing location? I am ranked in the top one percent of sales people, in my current field within the state of Oklahoma. Even with my outstanding sales record I have been unable to achieve my goals.

Also, has anyone had any experience with training programs for this industry? i.e. - the NAMSR or AIMS??
