I am beginning a new job in sales for a DME company, and I was wondering if I show dynamic sales for a couple of years, will this place me in an excellent position to move in to capital medical equipment sales (e.g. imaging, diagnostic equipment, etc)?

I am really excited about the work, though in the back of my mind I am thinking about my future marketability.

Thanks
D. Leone

I myself am in DME sales. I wished someone in a hiring position would answer this post. My personal experience is that it doesn't hurt like pharmaceutical sales does. If you have pharma experience forget ever getting in capital equipment sales. The best positions for future marketability is b2b sales. Selling a tangible product. So it is not the worst and not the best

I recently started working for a DME that specializes in incontinence products. I am in charge of online sales at www.yourdiaper.com and I handle the incoming calls. I didn't have any pharma experience, so I had to learn a lot as we grew. I couldn't imagine doing any other type of sales now.
