I graduated from Robert Morris University on May 1, 2010 and can't find a job. Career services at Robert Morris helped me make my resume and cover letter. I have emailed and faxed my resume to so many different hospital's and doctor offices and I still can't find a job. I don't know what to do. Do anyone have any suggestions?? |

I have emailed and faxed my resume to so many different hospital's and doctor offices and I still can't find a job. I don't know what to do. Do anyone have any suggestions?? My teacher stressed getting dressed appropriately (business like)and hand delivering your resume. She said that if there is a particular place you want to work, you should show your face and give them a new resume every 3 weeks (because your resume and get lost, they sift through them every so often and throw them away). Never hand anyone a resume by its self. Always deliver it in a manila folder labeled with your name. It looks more professional and it is less likely to be lost. Most importantly ask to speak with the office manager and tell them you are looking for a job and wanted to give her you resume personally. Be eager in telling them you graduated and are eager to begin your new career. Remember to smile-even when you talk. Never ask if there are any job openings. 9 times out of 10 they will say "NO". Don't be in a rush talking. Just be professional and friendly. You will do just fine! Oh and have faith and think positive. Go door to door and don't let one rude or suspicious person get you down! Keep moving. |
