I completely understand how you feel about that...now the job market wants those who recently graduated from these medical programs to volunteer i thought intership was basically a volunteership i personally think it is unwise to volunteer because its a financial responsibility. its unfortunate that even in this state you have to be bilingual.(when in rome...) |

Don't feel that all is lost, continued to apply - regardless - go to the local hospitals and do some volunteer, that's how I got my first job lead....even if you have experience in the field. You put yourself in an environment that will open up doors that you otherwise would not have exposes too . Good Luck! |

I have worked so hard in school to become a certified Medical Administrative Assistant and i am currently in school getting my Associates in Health Science. I just found out I had a warrant for my arrest for a battery charge at my previous job. The warrant is almost 2 years old and i didn't know anything about it. I feel so ashamed and embarrassed that all this time I have been putting in applications for jobs everywhere and no one called me probably because of the fact that the charge is pending on me. I reacted to a male mentally insane patient attempting to attack me. What was I suppose to do let him punched me in my face after he sent me to the emergency room already for a fracture rip? What choice did I have no one helped me or tried to stop the patient. |

You are so correct, you can't get a job unless you speak Spanish and willing to work for $8.00.649 |

Take a basic Spanish language class at Adult Education. Get some practical experience in the medical field volunteering at a hospital where the clients are Spanish speaking to practice your new second language. Look for contract/temp firms specializing in medical healthcare staffing in your area. Hospitals sometimes post per diem positions. Might be the only way to make contacts, work your way in. |

there's no way I'd learn a second language for such low pay. Time to move, I'd say. To somewhere that doesn't expect you to learn a language to get paid in peanuts. |

Unfortunately, for US citizens - but employers need people that can response to their clients.... so, I say something is seriously wrong we this outcome - we did not leave and go to another country - so people entering the country should have to conform to the language of the land - the pay is low starting out - but it does get must better with time in a position and experience. |

To somewhere that doesn't expect you to learn a language to get paid in peanuts. There are two reasons why you should learn Spanish. 1. You are going into the medical field. 2. You plan on retiring in Panama. I am leaning towards number 2. lol! |
