I am wondering if this is similar to a medical records clerk position? This appears to be in the coding/audit deparmett of a large Cancer Institute. It seems to be reconciling encounter forms and tracking - more of clerical type position to support the audit and coding department with utilization of computer skills etc. Would this be a good opportunity for a "foot-in-the-door" for someone who is pursing a RHIT/RHIA schooling. I applied because it's a medical records type position. I have the qualifications as I have 10+ years as a transcriptionist and a medical secretary. I am going to begin a program for RHIA degree soon. I wondered if I was on the right track in applying for this type of position.
