How did you get your start doing medical records coder work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position? Do you need a particular educational background? |

I have worked in the the healthcare field for more than 10 years. I started out as a receptionist in a surgeon's office and was amazed my the procedures and wanted to learn more. I ended up in my current postion through the grace of god. I started out doing physican levels for the ER department. I was then moved to outpatient clincial such as labs and radiology. I moved onto to outpatient surguries and then moved into Inpatient Coder for non-medicare patients. I have alot on hands on training and attending seminars.. I'm currently studying for my CCS exam. |
