What do you enjoy most about medical records coder work? What do you dislike the most? Is it challenging? Are there many opportunities to learn and advance? What keeps you at your job? |

The challenge is the best thing about the job. I enjoy it mostly because I learn something everyday. I have learned and advanced in my postition. I started out as a outpatient coder and now I'm current a Inpatient Coder for non-medicare patients. The reason I stay at my job is the job itself. Everyone has the opportunites to advance any job career. If you stay focused and get 100% you can advance and move up the ladder |

I am a CCA and can't get an interview not even temporary work!! I am older. I returned to school for this after several years as a legal secretary. I don't know what to do. |

You might want to take the exam for "CCS"=or-"CCS-P" as that is the most recognized certifitcation nation-wide. You can get more information on this from the AHIMA American Health Information Management Association the website is ahima.org. I would also google listings of the local practices in your area and cold fax your resume with a cover letter. |
