What is the best training for becoming a medical social worker? What types of ongoing training or certifications are necessary to be an effective medical social worker?

Hi there I would like to know the same thing! I'm worried about the fact that all of the medical social work jobs I find state that you need at the very least 1 year of acute care experience and usually more like 2 minimum. How can you gain that? Well the only advice I have is that I may decide to work during the summer between my two MSW years as a certified nursing assistant, to gain some hospital experience (if i can even land a job since landing one in a hospital is the same thing...they want 1 yr. experience haha). And even then, it's not social work, it's related but not the same.
