I'd like to change careers into Medical Laboratory Technology. But first I'd like to talk to a real person in the field to get an idea of the job market in my area, etc. However, I know NO ONE in any medical field. Should I just start calling up hospitals in my area and asking if I could speak to the staff? Will they think I'm crazy? Asking the college I plan to enroll at has been no help.

First af all, are you going to school for MT(BACHELOR) or MLT(Associate degree)?

That's a good question. I haven't decided yet. I'm hoping that doing an info interview would provide clarification as to which would be the best fit for me.
